The Story behind Zen Garden Ranch
After the sudden loss of her ten-year-old daughter, Rhianna, Lynette found herself turning toward the things that helped her stay connected to life. Nature, bodywork, writing, and painting became a comfort and a way of processing deep grief. Creativity in particular became a lifeline and an outlet for giving expression to emotions and experiences that were often beyond words.
Slowing down became important too. Making space for being quiet allowed her to listen beyond the thinking mind, to tune into the heart and body, and to become more receptive to what might arise through dreams, inner insight, and spiritual guidance.
Through this experience, Lynette became increasingly aware of how little room our busy lives leave for tending to what’s happening within us. So often, we’re driven by demands and the pressure to stay in “doing” mode. There isn’t always room to slow down and listen inwardly. Rest, reflection, nature, creativity, and quiet can reconnect us with a deeper kind of intelligence- one that helps guide us toward the next step in our own process.
This understanding inspired the vision for Zen Garden Ranch: a place where one could create the kind of retreat they need for themselves (or… a place where others could retreat).
Lynette’s vision became a shared endeavor with her partner, Frank. Over more than a decade, Frank poured his heart, craftsmanship, and hard work into bringing this vision to life, creating the gardens, Nest, Studio, and the outdoor spaces guests experience today.
What began as a deeply personal journey became an offering where something new could emerge through what had been broken.
